Um, what time is the wedding?
We are finalizing the details of timing and will share once they are confirmed. But for now you can safely plan for late afternoon :)
Is there a dress code?
Nope, you can wear whatever you want to feel comfortable, happy, festive, fancy, breezy, beautiful. Our only requirement is that you wear comfortable shoes so there's nothing stopping you from getting down on the dance floor. FWIW, I (Emily) will be wearing a floor-length, fitted white dress and John will be wearing a 2-piece suit and tie and we will both be wearing comfy kicks.
Are kids/babies welcome?
Yes! We don't want anything getting in the way of you being able to join us for the party. We trust your parental discretion if you will be able to have more peace of mind/fun if your kids are with you, or if they are home with a babysitter ;P Your call!
We plan to provide a babysitting service at the venue for kids 4+ Please reach out if you have questions!
When do I need to RSVP by?
Please RSVP by June 1st so we can coordinate accordingly.
What will the weather be like?
Should be sunny with a high of 75, but it will cool off a bit once the sun sets.
Our ceremony will be outside (in the sun - plan accordingly); the reception will be indoors.
Is there parking at the venue?
Yes, there are 50 parking spots at the venue. If you plan to drive, please try to have at least one other person (who is also attending our wedding) in your vehicle :P
What's the deal with "Ember?"
John started calling me "Em" which morphed to "Em-Bem" and became "Ember." It then continued an evolution to "Ee-ber", "Bee-ber," "Ber-Ber," "Bee-bee," "Em-bee" and "Ee-bee." John now calls me any and all of those nicknames, but "Ember" is the clear favorite. (And, no, he doesn't call me "Emily" unless he's mad at me...)
Anything about California I need to know?
1. Don't underestimate the power of the sun here. Even if it isn't *that* hot, the UV rays are strong. Wear your sunscreen!
2. If you start wondering why things suddenly seem to be rattling, congratulations, you just survived an earthquake.
3. If you're driving anywhere, add at least a 25% time buffer to account for the inevitable traffic. Add more buffer if you are planning on parking somewhere. Don't get stressed though, everyone is battling the same frustration.
4. Speed limits are optional.
